Yet another primordial burst from the crusty ether from Chicago's sizeable duo Giantology, who after a lengthy tour last winter, are finally back in action, and with an unsettling new video as well as their first 7" release. This double-headed beast may be enormous on hooks, but it's just catchy enough to hit you when you're not expecting it. Although they do indeed contain one of Joey Rubbish's (from The Rubs) ribs, this project holds a darker tone, with prehistoric percussion and far more ominous riffs than those good times you're used to with The Rubs. Because, like any mysterious organization trying to sell you something, Giantology doesn't sit well, it's something you hide from, and an audio abomination, but it's just so seductive in it's simplicity.
As sweet as slow molasses and as easily just as thick with the riffs, Giantology glaze your brain in ways you're not used to, and not to mention, have their first 7" release out this month on the ever reliable Italian imprint Goodbye Boozy, from which this seductive new video for "Hold Me Down" works so well. SO kick this into full-screen mode and blast off with Giantology!
