And The Rubs, Jesus Christ. Joey Rubbish has transformed this band from a low-rent Nobunny meets Dutchess & The Duke home recording outfit, right into one of the most impeccable hook-laden songwriting explosions of the last ten years. The band is now a literal sweat shop of nonstop hit-making swagger, incredible and minimal rockers that sit somewhere between the Plimsouls, Nick Lowe, and those unforgettable nuances of the early 1970s Faces & Kinks. Their upcoming LP Impossible Dream is not to be missed, an unconquered monolith of modern pop, every song it's own mountaintop, every single golden touch in place.
