The latest Fred and Toody Cole outfit, Pierced Arrows are on tour this month and have already made their way through Midwest and are making stops in DC and Chapel Hill over the weekend. Then, next week they'll be making their way back home and stopping through Austin, Denver, and Boise. The Coles have undoubtedly made their mark in the rock'n'roll universe over the past four decades, starting way back in the late 60s with Fred Cole's perfect garage outfit, Lollipop Shoppe. Then as the husband and wife team got together the immortal Dead Moon, the team built their sound to include the shards of pop and punk stuck in the timeless foundation of rock'n'roll. After the breakup of Dead Moon in 2006, that very spirit extended into Pierced Arrows, as Fred and Toody picked up where they left off barely skipping a beat. This has been a busy year for Pierced Arrows, with European, Australian and US tours, a couple of singles and their debut full length CD/LP Streight to the Heart both released on their own Tombstone Records, it's hard to imagine these guys have any time for anything else.
Pierced Arrows play tonight in Hoboken, New Jersey at Maxwell's with The Figgs and Holmes.
