This Saturday at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, be sure to catch the 21st century debut performance of 60s icon Mary Weiss backed up by none other than the Reigning Sound. This remarkable night is in celebration of the release of Weiss' brand new album on Norton Records featuring new songs written by such luminaries as Greg Cartwright, John Felice, Billy Miller and Adny Shernoff, and refined with a natural finesse that has to be seen to be believed. When the world first heard the sweetly seductive sound of the Shangri-Las hit "Lead of The Pack" in 1964, the girl-group sound latched onto the soul of American music and has left an indelible mark with their string of hits ever since. Mary Weiss, the lead singer and notably one of the most recognizable voices of the genre, has once again reared her head to reclaim her crown, and her ever-growing fan base of rock'n roll enthusiasts are undoubtedly eager to check out the new songs with a modern, yet classic rock'n roll edge. She teamed up with Norton this past year and upon suggesting a collaboration with Reigning Sound's Greg Cartwright, they struck a chord and began working on her comeback album. Although staying far from the spotlight for so many years can easily make one weary of a new start, our sources suggest her captivating voice along with the Reigning Sound's complimentary backup should be quite a sight and sound to behold. Her brand new album, Dangerous Game, and single "Don't Look Back" eerily capture her signature charm perfectly, so don't miss this chance to witness this icon of rock'n roll on her glorious return to Cleveland. Check out a few songs HERE. Warming up her set, the Reigning Sound take the stage first and with their newly reinstated keyboard player once again in the fold, it'll definitely be a night to remember. Be sure to check out Mary backed by Greg and the RS crew in Austin during the upcoming South By Southwest Festival as part of Norton's stellar showcase on Thursday March 15th with original 60s punks, the Alarm Clocks and Sam the Sham as well!
