This Friday, Vancouver British Columbia will be morally razed with the painfully unfortunate sounds of the dirtiest rock'n roll mongrels to crawl out the caves of the Northwest in ages. Opening the show are the locals known as Vapid, a bombastic lo-fi female-fronted punk mess as exhilarating as a five car collision and equally as lacerating. Then, if you haven't heard the white noise'd blast of Ladies Night yet, be sure to bring your security blanket as these guys are irresponsibly cruel to your eardrums and will leave you sonically bewildered in the best way you can imagine. And, since they're defending their territory against the northbound invading Feelers, you can guarantee teeth will be gnashed and hairs will be on end. The award winningly-named Rat Fancy from Seattle are another emerging formidable force to be reckoned with. Strangulated guitars with people dying in the background would be the easiest way to describe them, but underneath it all are crashing, solid songs with lots of promise once their demo material transforms into an release (coming soon on Chain Letter Records). Rat Fancy also features members of the Flying Dutchmen, the Intelligence, and Tractor Sex Fatality, so you know they've got their heads screwed on right. It's definitely looking like there's some interesting new blood pouring out of the far Northwest these days, so keep your eyes on this region in general for more of this addictive slop. Headlining the night are none other than the Feelers from Columbus, Ohio, who are currently out on a wild and crazy West coast tour, and who set entire cities aglow with equal parts smashed hijinks and pugnacious punk of the rowdiest order. Their LP on Deadbeat records was a boner-fried killer, so be sure to help them out and grab it from the band during the rest of the tour (if you don't already own it), and catch all four bands Friday night at Pub 340 in Vancouver.
