Blank Realm are a band of siblings, three of them bound by their DNA: Daniel, Luke and Sarah Spencer; and Luke Walsh who is their brother from another mother, and their guitarist. The band came together in a Brisbane suburb in 2005, and in their early years they honed in on noisy, psych-damaged experimentation, consistently abstracting any sounds they could wring from their equipment.
Throughout the years, Blank Realm have amalgamated into a sound that is much different than what they originally transmitted during their earlier inception. Today their tunes bring to light the intersection between glorious and purposeful instrumental ineptitude, ravaged with pop licks that swirl together in a beautifully weird resounding vibration.
Blank Realm are featured in the soon to be released US version of NOISE IN MY HEAD : VOICES FROM THE UGLY AUSTRALIAN UNDERGROUND due out soon on HoZac Books.
